TEN FASHION MYTHS DEBUNKED!
July 1, 2011 · Leave a Comment
Picture this…a pink hat, pink scarf, pink gloves, pink shoes, and a pink purse on one lady! At least five different shades of pink eye shadow along with pink eyeliner! Plastic leather-esque black pants and a neon pink winter coat! Sound the alarm! Someone please alert the fashion authorities and tell them it is a 911 emergency! Tell them to leave the detectives and bring Tim Gunn instead! This lady siting across from me on the subway has clearly committed a fashion crime! I, along with my colleagues, are disgusted and strongly believe that she should be punished to the full extent of the... [Read the full story]

I have a great love for all things vintage. There is something about a piece of clothing that has a story that just satisfies my desire to be a part of history. Guvnor’s Vintage Thrift in Park Slope Brooklyn is an interesting place to shop for vintage finds. I stumbled across this vintage utopia while taking a walk and enjoying a brisk fall day. Guynors Vintage Thrift , formally Monkey Whistle and Motorcycle Shop, is a 19,000 square foot vintage paradise in the heart of park slope. The prices are fantastic. They have classy men Oxford shirts for nineteen dollars, funky costume jewelry... [Read the full story]

Spa Boutique NY Inc.

Spa Boutique NY Inc. is one of those unsuspectingly lovely establishments that I love to love. I walked in was warmly greeted, asked what service I’d like and instructed to pick a color. With a wide and very current selection of all the top colors from Essie and OPI, it’ll leave you wide eyed, mouth slightly agape and super excited about what you luscious color will grace your finger tips and toesies. I normally am very much an Essie enthusiast but when I saw OPI’s deep earthy green color “Here today aragon tomorrow” I instantly knew that was going to be my golden ticket. The bright... New York City Street Style – Out and About
March 14, 2011 · Leave a Comment
New York City Street Style – Out and About. Candice Cooper ventures out into New York city to capture New York City fashionistas in their daily lives. Every New Yorker has their individual style. 1st Street Style Picture: With her bright red Madonna-Esque, gold shoes and teased hair I was drawn to Briana Layon of Briana Layon & The Boys like a moth to flame. She is a perfect example of what New York was, is and forever will be, a place where you can be an individual. She marches to the beat of her own drum, literally and does it oh so well. 2nd Street Style Picture: Sunday is the perfect... [Read the full story]

New York Street Style 1st street style picture: Shine. And that’s exactly what she was doing when I spotted her walking down the block. She was on the phone so our convo was brief, but her ensemble says it all, rugged, sharp and feminine she nailed it. I’m on the hunt for a geometric chunky sweater; if you ladies...

Style to me is something so personal and important that it has taken me many years to curate the perfect wardrobe. One that I can pull from blindly if need be and know with great confidences that I will look streamlined, chic with a hint of ooo la la mystery (nothing sexier than a mysterious woman in a well put together...

New York Street Style captured by Candice Cooper in Soho. 1st Street Style Picture: Hanging around Soho makes a gal thirsty, so I hit up Starbucks for a little chai tea fix and on my way out I ran into Sarah Nisch. Actor/musician/adorable dresser I had to stop her and chat. She is a native Saint Louian now living...

New York Street Style captured by Candice Cooper 1st Street Style picture: Well, this was an interesting story. I saw this young lady from across the street and she looked cozy!! And adorable! There was a bit of a language barrier so it was a little difficult to have a lengthy convo about her favorite stores, but...
